J. L. Wiener charity and support Fund is going to implement 1 year project (lasting from June 2009 till June 2010), supported by NGO Fund, established by the scheme of European Economic Area and Norwegian financial mechanisms
Short introduction to the project:
In the year 2004 the first name community fund in Western Lithuania was founded. It was established for the memory of J. L. Wiener (1795-1862) and its goal is to seek for balanced development in local community. During the recent years the Fund is carrying out its activity seeking to strengthen the participation of business, non-governmental, local authority institutions and members of community in the community life. Since the Fund sets bigger tasks and goals every time, it must strengthen the institutional skills of its activity.
Therefore, the main goal of this project is to strengthen the institutional skills of J. L. Wiener Fund while spreading the awareness of the Fund in the eyes of business entities and community, while attracting new shareholders and/or sponsors, while collecting funds from citizens (support, 2%, Law on Income Tax of Individuals), while encouraging citizens to participate by voluntary activity and while cooperating with communities of Lithuanians abroad and embassies. The main target groups of the project are business entities and local community (citizens of Western Lithuania).
During the execution of this project the Fund will:
- renew the strategy of its activity;
- build and execute the strategy of public relations;
- organize representation events for representatives of business companies and other interested persons in order to present the Fund and to analyze the climate of philanthropy in Western Lithuania;
- prepare the full-scale biography of Julius Ludwick Wiener and publish illustrated album about the J.L. Wiener and the Fund of his name;
- build a long-term product of publicity and fund attraction: Tourist route in Klaipeda city "Klaipeda by footprints of J.L. Wiener", based on which the excursions for tourists in Klaipeda city will be organized while presenting all the objects financed by J. L. Wiener - schools, hospitals, asylums.
So, the execution of the Project will strengthen the only one active community fund in Western Lithuania.
